I tried drawing an Archaeopteryx, the prehistoric ancestor of birds, and the "link" between birds and other Reptiles (Yes, officially, birds are a kind of reptile). It is thought that they were predatory reptiles that would jump off trees to catch their prey, they developed feathers to insulate their body, and since it also made them more aerodynamic, they got more and more feathers through the generations, and eventually could glide and one day, they became birds as we know them today.
I thought I'd try drawing one jumping off a tree and gliding, maybe I made it look too much like flight, but whatever. I used this reference to draw it: [link]
Anyone interested could look up "Archaeopteryx" on google images, they have some awesome illustrations and 3D models of them there.
I totally concur with the previous comment. AWESOME work!
